A good day at work, , called to make tax appointment to get mom's taxes done, but lady told me I have a better and faster chance of just walking in! I can get it done in-between appointments. I have an early day Thursday at work, so may go then.
talked to U of M coordinators for Dd. I was all worried about the application. The wording sounded like they wanted to know if I was willing to liquidate all of MY assets to pay the bill. I let my fingers do the walking and found out that I did not have to worry, that DD was to fill it out, that none of my assets were being considered. Whew!! I'm my own worst enemy, worry wart!!

I am so used to dealing with the government, that I used THEIR definition of household assets...

I am suffering with a severe pain in my right foot at the side of the great toe. It has been like a hot electrical shock since 8 a.m. and I took an Ibuprofen and am going to take another tart cherry capsule this evening. I usually take one 1,000mg capsule twice a day to reduce inflammation from fibro and arthritis. DD takes it and it eases the pain of her dermatitis and eczema dramatically.

sound like a plan DD should be able to get help from the U of M. One of ours sons with a 4.0 avg Deans List engineering physics was told he had to leave the campus because his bill was not paid He had paid his part but the lions share was ours. In January on the record coldest day of the year I drove up and asked for the chancellor. I got the financial aid woman . I had a copy of our sons transcript with a letter from him to discuss this issue he was over 18.
I also had his bill and the money we had to pay was the only part owing.
She said he is a grown man and we expect our students to come forward to fight their own battles. I EXPLODED. I said look at the bill it distinctly says we owe you thousands of dollars and until we apply for a loan you cannot Kick him off Campus. He is an high honors student and this year there are 85 FULL TIME football players and even more hockey players here on FULL scholarships. I asked if it was an institute of learning ot entertainment . I knew there was a board meeting and I told her I would be there with his transcript and the letter saying he had to leave Campus January 6th.
I drove back home to a message on the answering machine that his bill was paid by physics department scholarships. He left the campus with money in the bank. He had been given a job as a lab assistant as work study so he was allowed to keep all of that.
I was shaking in my shoes I was so MAD, but the squeaky wheel got the grease. He graduated CUM LAUDE in Engineering physics but there was no work for him in Maine. That is why he lives in CA , I sure wish he was here in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon
I hope DD is able to get as much financial aid as she needs Pat inMaine.
