my challenge was to have 1 or 2 small snacks after work

how i am doing day by day

i am still struggling but doing better. last night i came home from work literally starving. i stood and thought about what i wanted. i even opened a container of yogurt and said, no i dont really want that. i went with my old standy-peanut butter and jelly sandwich. but instead of scooping out a ton of peanut butter, i measured a tbs. man, i gotta tell you, i was going way over that before,. no wonder i couldnt lose weight. peanut butter really can quench my appetite.

so i felt the need to munch a lttle more after that and i had a cup of dry cheerios.

this is a huge step for me. i would still like to cut back tho. i have def made huge strides compared to a few weeks ago.

what can i improve on

i am doing well, but i need to keep tv off and occupy myself with book, crossword puzzle or something that requires my mind. that way i will keep it occupied and not be thinking mindlessly about food.
i also need to go to bed earlier. right now it is around 2 am. i would like to go around 12:30 or 1 so i can wake up earlier.

    Good job on the cutting back. I know what you mean about peanut butter. It's amazing how much you can spread on a sandwich if you don't measure it. This is my standby also as I'm often hungry when I get home from work late at night. I measure 1 tbsp and put it on a slice of my whole wheat bread. It holds me over until morning and also adds some protein to my day (something I'm often short on).

    emoticon having something to occupy your hands is always a good idea I knit that keeps my brain and hands working. It also means I cannot have anything sticky to eat or the yarn gets dirty. emoticon

    Sounds like you are on the right track. One trick I use when I have the after work munchies (which more often than not is a the day is over time to relax trigger for me) is to do a little exercise like walking for about 10 - 15 minutes. If I still feel like eating it's real hunger and not just boredom/end of day syndrome.

    My fave go to snack after working out is peanut butter and bananas on whole wheat waffles. Yummy! I found some new Peanut Butter that had flaxseed added to it. Super Yummy!

    Snacking is my down fall too and Peanut butter on toast gets me every time I am exhausted.
