Well, here I go again....seems like I am constantly thinking and trying new things to keep the journey fresh and fun in order to ensure my successes along the way to the ultimate goal for my new lifestyle. Here is what I am doing now.....
I have, for a long time now, been putting little reminders around the house, ex: icebox doors, mirrors, doors around the house, the kitchen table, scotch taping them to my clothes, safety pinning them to my clothes, etc., but I feel that this one in particular will help me the most......I write a "Paula's Thoughts" or an encouraging reminder to myself of what to do for the day, what my goals are for the day/week, list a few things that I can NOW do that I WASN'T able to do when I first started my journey 4 years ago..... any miscellaneous little thing.......to remind myself on a daily basis. I now write them on a 3x5 index card, 4x6 index card, scrape paper, napkin....anything... and then I use 2 punched holes and twine and hang them around my neck. For me, this allows me not to stray from what I'm doing. I have it always around me. I can read it or them as often as I need to. I may have one for the day, or I may need several for that particular day.
It may sound silly, or even crazy, but it is working for me. It is really hard to "try to get that extra bite or snack" when I have "myself & journey" hanging around my neck.
This may not work for anyone but me, but why not give it a try, just for a day and see how it works.
Whether I'm in my PJ's, daily clothes, or walking.....I have them hanging around my neck. It is working for me. Maybe it will for you. We sure don't need boredom in our journey.
