Homo proponit,

Tuesday, March 05, 2013

sed Deus disponit. Thomas a Kempis had it right. In "Of the Imitation of Christ" Book 1 chapter 19 he writes:
"For the resolutions of the just depend rather on the grace of God than on their own wisdom; and in Him they put their trust, whatever they take in hand. For man proposes, but God disposes; neither is the way of man in his own hands."

Nothing happened as I planned this weekend. Work was crazier than usual, I was late getting home then slept longer than usual, and didn't get to implement my new plan as I had hoped.

I was only able to get a little of the computer desk cleared off over the weekend, then I woke up yesterday evening (never heard the alarm), with a blinding dehydration/tension headache. Even drinking enough water to make my back teeth float didn't help. So back to bed I went. Of course early bed meant early up. At 3:30 am. :P BUT...the computer desk is clean! :)

I didn't get my blogging done yesterday so---

Part 3:
What will I do to encourage myself and keep on track? Hmm.....Well, after I finish each area I will treat myself to a tea break and bit of sparking, a chapter or two of a book or a little mindless game playing. (I just need to remember to get back up and go to the next job.) Once my sewing area is decluttered, I will be able to work on the sewing machine cover I've had planned for a While. Okay, over a year. Above all else, I need to remember two things. 1: Life will be easier when my surroundings are organized. And 2: "So what ever you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Cor 10:31 ESV). I need to lose my "why bother, nobody's around to see it anyway" attitude and learn how to take pride in my ability to walk from one end of the apartment to the other without dodging a box or a bin.

Part 4:
See above. However, I have nothing planned for today after I get back from the gym, so I have all day to get caught up and make inroads.

And speaking of the gym...Bye! emoticon

We all have those weeks! Hang in there!
The best step I ever made for myself was getting organized. Once I did everything seemed to get easier! I made a huge to do list and each day would take on one item to knock off the list. Somedays I wouldn't get it all done. Somedays I did multiple items.
Keep reaching for it and you will get it!
Sorry you had such a headache, hope the rest made you feel better!

Great blog. I like your idea of measuring out work and pleasure; effort and rewards. Tea and a book? What could be better!

Go for it!
