Out of Sorts

I'm cranky. I have a headache. I went to Zumba yesterday and it was miserable. How can it be so great on Friday and leave me energized and happy and then on Monday make me want to vomit? I came home last night, drank some water, took a shower and made dinner, then fell asleep on the couch, dinner half eaten, and only woke up when it started thundering at 1am.

And this morning I'm still tired, even though I had about 11 hours. My legs are sore. Not from Zumba; they were sore before I ever went. I did an all-day batik class on Saturday and we were standing on a concrete floor for most of the time. I didn't have good shoes on, and I think that it messed with my knees. I didn't do any of the jumping in Zumba yesterday, because I was worried about my knees, and I don't think it made them any worse, but I really worry that I am going to do something bad to them and then where will I be?

Thank God Spring break is in a few weeks. I need a break from my routine. And I need to get out of this country for a little bit. It's so hot right now, close to 40C every day, of about 100 for you folks in the States. I get sweaty just walking to work. Hopefully last night's storm marks the beginning of the rainy season and we will get some relief.

Ok, enough whinging. It's time for a new attitude.

    We all gotta whine sometime...and if my knees hurt, my legs were sore and it was 100 degrees outside, I'd whine too.

    It sounds like that all-day class may have wiped you out. With that heat and the concrete floor, it must've took a toll on your joints. It's weird how our bodies act different one day as opposed to another. Last Monday I blew through 15 miles on the bike no sweat and last night it was a major chore to push through and get it. Definitely listen to your body and don't push too hard and rest if you need it. If you still want to go to Zumba or a class and not break your exercise routine, then only stay for half of it or only do part of the moves. I've done Zumba before and the only thing it made me feel is a craving for Mexican food ;) That was a night I probably should've rested instead! Hope you bounce back soon!

    Sometimes our bodies just need a rest. It sounds as if yours went on strike last night. You might look at some glucosamine chondroitin and MSM supplements to help with your knees. I take it daily and have noticed significant improvement. Hope your day is better today!
