My friend that I ride with bought a huge ball for her horse to kick around. She wondered if Rio would enjoy it as well. He was curious about the ball, not fearful, and eventually kicked it once. So maybe in the future we can have a game of horse soccer hehe...
I rode about an hour. Today was beautiful. It's hard to believe two separate storms are on the way.
We left the ranch and I found odds and ends to photograph. We were on Leona Ave. A proud Raven was sitting on a pole.
Across the way from the Raven, I kept hearing a Flicker. They are related to the Woodpecker. A beautiful bird. It was a ways off in a field, so my picture isn't super clear.
There was a Ground Squirrel running around.
I kept hearing a Woodpecker, so we drove down the road a bit. I finally found it on a telephone poll. Apparently this Woodpecker is artistic. I spotted a face of a Bear right by the bird.
Horses grazing away.
View of the hills
I wanted to say hello to Twilight and Coco today. Twilight was so happy to see me she trotted over this time. Coca was to busy eating to get her picture taken.
As I was petting Twilight a Raven kept cawing. It was sitting in a tree right by the horses.
Right after I took that picture a Red Shoulder Hawk flew over head. It was holding something in its beak. The Raven gave chase. The Hawk landed on a poll, and the nosy Raven landed right by the Hawk. Oh, was the Hawk mad. The Raven finally flew off. We drove up the road so I could get pictures.
We were going back down the road and a Scrub Jay landed looking for bugs etc.
Mama Hawk was sitting in the nest. You can barley see her head.
And her sweetie keeping guard.
Have a good Tuesday!
