314 - easy day!

Monday, March 04, 2013

Woot! Got my steps in without a hitch by walking in the beautiful, blissful sun on my lunch break at work! I am so excited for the seasons to change :)

Work was ok. I always want to be busier and busier, but as my husband and even father pointed out, when I'm pregnant and have a kid I'll be happy for the sometimes slow, 3.5 days a week that I work. So I should just be happy for now and later, when I'm done trying to get pregnant, babies are here and I'm done with all of that, then I can get back to working like crazy.

Tomorrow I'm meeting a friend for a trail walk - I think the loop is about 6.5 miles. I'm really looking forward to it. This is the friend I used to run with every Sunday and I've been missing it. I definitely won't be running, lol, but the walk will be nice!

All in all, and easy day!

I can't wait for Spring! I'm already wanting to get my outdoor decorations and furniture out. Start the garden. Get my flower beds in order. And my husband reminds me that it is too soon. Arrgghh!!

Your hubby and father are right. With the adrenal fatigue and your stressful years of college your new lifestyle should be about balance. As I've aged I have come to realize that balance is what is lacking in too many of our lives. The healthiest seniors I have encountered lead balanced lives like my MIL's best friend Ruth. She is 87 but looks and acts much younger. She has a youthful body. She takes the time to fix herself really healthy plant based meals and she walks every day. She has outside interests but doesn't allow herself to be bogged down with the responsibility of doing too much. She is not stretching herself too thin. She has a schedule. She has rest times. It is something my MIL didn't do and now she is gone. They were best friends but never ate a meal together. Ruth rarely eats out. My MIL ate out 3 times a day. It sure brings everything in focus for me.

By the way, GF, when your children are here you will be busier than ever and probably glad you are working less. emoticon

That walk sounds great. I envy you!!
