Taking A Day Or 2 Of Rest Makes A Big Difference

Monday, March 04, 2013

Taking a day or two off from my usual exercise routine made a huge difference! I couldn't believe all of the energy that I had this morning because I rested over the weekend. By rested, I don't mean that I was a couch potato. I scaled back my exercise to one long walk on Saturday and one on Sunday. It has been a long time since I've taken two days off in a row. I usually just take off Sundays but my body was talking loud and clear this weekend. I listened.

Today I rode 65 minutes - intervals of 6 and 8 on the recumbent cycle followed by 95 minutes of jogging in the pool. That was followed by several minutes of stretching. I felt exhilarated when I finished! I had to complete a bunch of errands after my workout and I did them with ease.

To complete my day, hubby fixed me a lovely dinner while I haggled with a store over a lost order. He even washed the dishes afterward! Am I lucky or what?

OH, that is great that you count your blessings!! It lifts your heart and spirit and increases your blessings!! All that exercise is wonderful. And your days of almost rest, listening to your body, makes lots of sense. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow at the Y, but Thurs night at the team dinner for sure!! Take care, Aquagirl. -Marsha
