Had a phone call this afternoon from a friend I made after her husband and mine were both diagnosed with ALS... her DH passed away yesterday.

I am bereft.

She is comforted that he is in the presence of his Lord. In fact, that's how she told me, "He went to be with Jesus yesterday."

Grieving for her (and to be honest, a little bit for myself as I see my own future) I'm finding comfort in food... Fortunately, the recipe for Spark Banana Ice Cream doesn't do too much damage, but I'm feeling pretty uncontrolled...

I probably ought to go find those articles that Coach Dean Anderson wrote that have been so helpful in the past.

Praying for you. I cannot imagine how much harder this has been on you because of your husband's diagnosis. As you move through your grief for your friend's husband, realize that God has put this friend in your life so you can support each other. That's pretty special. Sending hugs and prayers your way.

P.S. I imagine you probably have done this, but give your husband a big hug. You will never regret it. emoticon

So sorry about your friend...thoughts and prayers being sent your way. Try to relieve some of your pain and emotions through exercise instead of food if you can...

My sympathies to your friend and to you as well. You can see your future whenever it transpires. We will always be here to help you walk the path you were given. Ellen Gerst has a book to help with grieving called How to Mourn. I have it on my Kindle but haven't read much as of yet. It comes highly recommended. Take care & hang in there. We love you & so does Jesus.

So sorry to hear about your friends husband passing, I do know what it is like to lose your spouse. Mine passed Feb 11 from cancer. emoticon

I am so very sorry, for your friends loss and for it's meaning for you. Keep coming here for support rather than your fridge. Take a walk, a hot bath, have a good cry, and come here again.

We will be here.

Oh, Julie -- I'm so sorry.

Have you still got any of those apples? If so, crunch on those. Or popcorn. Or anything that's not got a gazillion calories. You've done so well with your weight loss, and I know emotional eating is so tempting. It's so hard to stay on a healthy path!

I'm so sorry to hear that. It's so damn hard to see people go.

I hope you find comfort soon.
