5% challenge, Q3

Q3) What are you doing to encourage yourself and keep on track?

**Add strength training back into my workout
-Being sick (still) I'm still so tired. I haven't done any cardio is a while because of my breathing, but lately I've just been too tired to do much. I have done some weights at home (I have 5lb & 8lb) but haven't made it a habit yet. I really need to start/restart one of those bootcamps. I wish I felt better. I need to really carve out some time at night and just do some weights.

**Less sweets/candy/sugar
-I don't keep any candy in my office where it's visible (it's in a drawer). I do keep some on my boss' table, but I usually don't eat it. I don't want to deprive myself of chocolate, but will try and stick to 'better' dark chocolate and not candy. Again, I'll drink a cup of tea if I want something sweet and then decide if I really want chocolate.

I like the seated workout idea my Li'l Larva has! Also, maybe some of the yoga/Pilates videos? Okay, so I KNOW it's not ST, but it's kind of a nice way to ease back into ST, I think.

Get well soon. It is hard to workout when you don't feel well.

If you aren't feeling well enough for a bootcamp yet, try some of the seated workouts. Some of them work you harder than you would think.

I also just started strength training again. It's so empowering, isn't it?

Great goals!

I love chocolate but I have to keep my carbs down because of my Type2 Diabetes. I do the fat free/sugar free chocolate pudding, etc. but when I really want something decadent I eat an AtkinsTreat Endulge Peanut Butter Cup. It does have 160 calories for 2 but 0 g sugar and 18 g carbohydrates with 5 g of fiber. They really taste like authentic Reese's to me and I can build it in to my plan without too much trouble.
Sometimes I only eat 1 of the 2 pieces and that's enough to satisfy me.

Good luck. emoticon

What kind of tea do you drink for "something sweet"? I also have a sweet tooth, and would love to hear your idea!

I agree with Donna that this is a great game plan. Sorry you haven't been feeling well but I really admire the steps you are still taking to meet your goals and handle this challenge.

Do what you can and you will get there. Hope you feel better very soon. emoticon emoticon
