After a month of stress, a cold, more stress and other stuff I could whine about I have to come clean and admit that the dark side grabbed hold and old habits reared their ugly head last week.
Instead of going grocery shopping I ordered in dinner. Instead of spending a half hour on the treadmill I sat on my butt on the couch watching reruns. Instead of tracking my food last week I decided to not worry about it for a few days, which of course also meant not stepping on the scale. It's amazing how quickly old habits can come back and it's a good reminder to myself that I am always only a couple of days or a few excuses away from being back on the old path of an unhealthy lifestyle. In one week I gained 4 pounds.
I am still very proud that I managed the month the way I did. I had a lot of distractions tossed in my path that normally I would have dived onto so I could use them as an excuse to not exercise or eat healthy. I did lose myself for a few days and I know that as quickly as those 4 pounds found a home with me I will be dropping them. I ate too much, didn't exercise and ignored water. Hey, I know how to fix that!
