So my country Kenya goes to the polls today. The last time we voted in 2007, things did not turn out too well. We ended up with the worst nightmare this country has ever faced - post election violence. We have been praying for a really long time that things turn out right this time.
I was at the polling station by quarter to six in the morning (I left my house at 5.30a.m). By that time the queues were already pretty long. The polling Station opened almost 30 minutes late, at 6.30a.m. I cast my vote at 9.00a.m. and I felt good.
Friends, please join me in praying for my country - it really is a beautiful country. Politicians like to divide us on tribal lines because it serves their selfish interests. I just hope we all learned our lesson in 2007, most people are still struggling to recover.
God bless Kenya.
