Kenya Decides

Monday, March 04, 2013

So my country Kenya goes to the polls today. The last time we voted in 2007, things did not turn out too well. We ended up with the worst nightmare this country has ever faced - post election violence. We have been praying for a really long time that things turn out right this time.

I was at the polling station by quarter to six in the morning (I left my house at 5.30a.m). By that time the queues were already pretty long. The polling Station opened almost 30 minutes late, at 6.30a.m. I cast my vote at 9.00a.m. and I felt good.

Friends, please join me in praying for my country - it really is a beautiful country. Politicians like to divide us on tribal lines because it serves their selfish interests. I just hope we all learned our lesson in 2007, most people are still struggling to recover.

God bless Kenya.

My heart goes out to you! I hope hope hope it is peaceful and goes well. Your country is awesome and the people are wonderful--I have many friends from Kenya, its the lousy government and politicians that are the problem. You are brave, to get out and vote. I'm proud of you. And praying for you.

Amen Lucy, may your beautiful country be safe and every child of the Father there be absolutely protected.
May the Lord deflect the sword over your country and send the peace of His presence to you.
May there be perfect love, the love of God between the different tribes in Kenya.
May the Lord really bless His Kenyan children so that they will be a blessing to others.
May their light really shine now in this time of uncertainty.
May the Lord elect and send godly leaders to you who will lead you with wisdom. In the Name of Jesus
Love
Maria
