Challenge Blog Entry - Day 3

Monday, March 04, 2013

Today I have decided to set my goals and start checking off what I have done so far. Tonight I reflect what I have done.

One goal is to eat a healthy breakfast. In the past, I have skipped breakfast thinking I could save calories. This has always backfired on me. I can already check this off as I had oatmeal with apples this morning.

Another goal is to get my 8 glasses of water in. So far this morning I have had 3 glasses. I hope to have 4 glasses in by the time I'm done with lunch.

My third goal is to set aside 30 minutes just for myself to relax and spend time just for myself. Being sick with leukemia, I have found that I get tired very easily, but I still am not taking the time to give myself the rest that I need. As a mom and wife, I keep busy around the house and taking care of the family along with working part-time. I know that I have to take care of myself and my health to be any good for my family. I plan on doing this when I get home from work when I have the house to myself and it is very quiet. This will be "my time".

As to achieving my habit for blogging. I plan on blogging after dinner each evening to note how I did with my day's goals and to see if I need to make any changes to what my goals are for the future.

Planning your journey, establishing your goals and then giving yourself the time each day to reflect on progress or what needs tweaking sounds like a formula for success to me. I particularly like the daily quiet time to reflect and I think I'll steal that page from your book for myself. Sometimes the days just get away from you and you have to make a conscious effort to stop and smell the roses. Definitely worth the effort.
Great blog!!!
