What a emotional last 2 weeks it's been.
It started the 18th with a phone call that my Uncle had been found by his wife (who had been on a mission trip) with kidney failer. They were not sure he'd make it. He DID!
This was a shock and so unexpected.
the 19th my husband left for a 2 day work trip to Vegas. (we hate being apart)
The 21sth I get a text from him his hotel had a view of the shooting/crash that happend. An hour later while I was at work with my students I got a phone call from him. (he never calls me, we only text) To tell me that his brother had passed away. That was at 8:00 am, he could not get home until 1:00 am! One of the longest days we have ever had.
The rest of the two weeks where the emotions of getting ready for the service and all that goes with that. I found out on the day of the service that the job I've been doing and was planning on going back to had been given to someone else. So I'm now out of a job. Great! (for the record I'm a sub, and was in a long term sub possition. I still have a job, I'm just back on the call list.) I have mixed emotions about all of this.
Durning this time we had planned to keep up with being active. Going for a run, or a bike ride, or a walk each day.... That didn't happen much. I got some things done ever other day I think. As I was the one who put to gether the slide show for the family. That takes a lot of work.
Food wise I managed to keep that in tack for the most part while still splurging some. Foods of greif, One night was pizza (I had 3 pieces), then there was chinese food. (what I thought I ordered and what I got where two different things, and well I didn't eat much) Then there was the the hamberger, a real one, with fries! YUMM I think the saving grace was that I was keeping my breakfast to normal, and lunches was a lot of sub sandwiches. I was burning at least 2000 calories a day...
So when I got home and got on the scale to see the damage... I found I had maintainted my weight!
Thank you my spark friends for the goodies, and the messages sent along the way. It was of great comfort.
Now back to training!
