The big move...and stuff.

Monday, March 04, 2013

My eating has been way off the past 4 days and I am feeling it.
I have been helping my daughter and son-in-law move and let me tell you, it was not an easy time. Besides the constant snow and cold, they have these stone steps that lead down to their front door and we had to navigate them to bring all their stuff from the garage into the house. The good news is that I got my cardio in going up and down those slippery stone steps - and I didn't fall! The bad news is that I was so sore after day two that I could barely move. Plus we were so busy I really didn't take the time to eat and got so hungry that I just grabbed fast food. Wow, the combination of crappy food and changing my sleep around to be awake during the day (and all the physical activity) really did a number on my insides.
I am getting back on track now. Doing my shakes and getting my exercise in. I still feel so bloated.
Now this doesn't mean that I am discouraged - nope, I am in it for the long haul and I realize that the weight isn't going to drop off overnight.
Funny story - Joseph (my son-in-law) and I were moving a heavy bookcase down the frozen steps(at night), I had the front end and he had the back. I was about to put my foot on the forth step down when the outside light turned off - BAM, total darkness. So, I just froze for a minute til my eyes adjusted and then slowly started down the steps. A furry black cat darted out and was just waiting in the way for me to step on him - so, I had to push this cat out of the way with one foot while balancing on the other foot with this heavy bookcase balanced in my hands....did I make it? Hellz to the yea! And then my daughter came out and flipped the light back on, whew! Okay, well it wasn't really that funny, guess you had to be there. Maybe we were just so tired we were loopy...but hey, we made it without falling.
I think we decided to put off the rest of the move until the next day in the daylight. LOL.
Anyway, I am glad they are all moved in and mostly unpacked. I love their new place - it is so much bigger and has room for my daughter to have studio space for her photography business.
I will post a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Have a great day Spark Peeps.

Wow! Moving in that stuff was hard! At our last move, we moved and it was in the teens. Brrrr! Needless to say, I don't want to move again.

So glad you did not fall or have any major bad repercussion. Moving has to be one of life's worst adventures.
