What's for Lunch Today?

I feel like you are all realizing that part of the reason why my weight loss has been a slow moving thing is because I do allow myself to eat pretty much whatever, just in moderation. And pizza is something that my family likes to do often. We usually make our own every Saturday, but the last couple of weeks have been a bit busy and so that's why we went out for pizza. Well today, we asked my aunt and uncle where they wanted to go for lunch and it ended up going to the kids and they all decided on Pizza Hut. But, over the last two years, my idea of pizza, and how much I should eat, has drastically changed. I'm more likely to eat a larger salad first and try to skip the breadsticks, although it doesn't always happen that way (like today). I've also learned that 3 or 4 slices of pepperoni/ham/bacon isn't the best idea either. So, I've learned to like veggies on my pizza and to add some protein, add chicken. So today's pizza is the same as last week. Chicken, green peppers and tomatoes. This time it was fresh tomatoes and not canned roasted...which is totally ok with me. :) Today I did eat a salad before hand and I did allow myself a breadstick. And even though this picture is of the whole pizza, I did not eat the whole pizza, I only ate two slices. And these two slices are totally different my old normal slices as this is a small pizza and not a large. It's kind of crazy to think how so much has changed, but it's also cool too. When I was ordering, my 7yr old cousin Gracie was sitting next to me and she said "I know why you're getting that. It's because it's only $6, so you're trying to save money, and you're trying to eat better and those are healthier things." And she was so proud of herself for figuring that out, but it gave me a moment of pride as well because my 7yr old cousin is learning how you can make healthier choices, even when it comes to pizza. She has seen me through this entire process, but not once has she made a comment about my weight loss. I mean, she's only 7, why would, or should she? Maybe I should actually ask her what she thinks because she probably has some good, truthful, words to say about it. But I'm only if she even says she didn't really notice because she lives me for me, no matter what size I am or what number is on the scale. She actually cracks me up though because for the last two years, she has kind of become a workout buddy for me in the sense that I'll pick her up and curl her like she was a weight. She'll climb onto my leg and I'll walk around with her. Or she'll hop on my back and let me run up and down hills. Even today I told her I couldn't pick her up because of my back hurting and she got on the floor and grabbed my leg and said, "we'll, can you work out this way?" lol Even though I couldn't because it still pulled my back, she knew that that was something I would like to do. She makes me smile and I'm so glad that part of me getting healthier includes being able to be more active with her. Shoot, one last story. This summer we went on a tour of the UP and it included Pictured Rocks. Well we went down some stairs and some hills to this one look out spot and almost immediately, Gracie said she had to go potty, so since she has done this before where she says she has to go and then we get there and she doesn't, I figured I'd make sure she had to by making her run to the bathroom. So we began running and we had a few more flights of stairs left when she began slowing down and she said "Slow down, you have more energy than me!" LOL BEST COMPLIMENT ever, and she was 6 at the time lol
