Hey, gardening is exercise too!

No ride today, but I'm feeling very good about the garden.
This was a very mild winter. Our swiss chard & spicy greens mix over-wintered well. We even have a couple of "volunteer" leaf lettuce plants that appeared in the last week or so. We opened a bag of our own green manure & worked that into a few beds. (Cutting into one of those bags makes me glad it's very windy.) I planted a small area of leaf lettuce and a couple of romaine lettuce. (This will be my first year trying to grow head lettuce.)
I split up our rhubarb (the thing has grown to monstrous proportions over the past two years) and I plan to give away some of it. Our artichokes wintered over nicely, too. The big bed that gets full sun all day long still needs to be tilled. Once that's done (next weekend), I hope to plant our peas, beets, and turnips.
So, I didn't get a ride in today, but I'm tired. And I wasn't the one running the tiller.
