How will I build this habit of eating healthy snacks?

Sunday, March 03, 2013

I recently read an article about the addictive nature of potato chips and that they are really so unhealthy that they should be considered dangerous. Okay, so I now have a new synonym for Pringles - Poison Chips! Just a little mental tool to help me hesitate before that impetuous purchase.

My mother , who is about to be 84, and very diet conscious, was talking to me today about the darn chips. Oh those chips, I use to sit down eat a half a gallon of Maple Walnut Ice Cream and an entire bag of Lays Lightly Salted Chips.. Argh :/, emoticon ! Now since I realize the damage I have done to my cholesterol, my body, my bones and joints for putting on all that weight and not eating right and raising my Low Density Lipids, I cut down drastically. I am gonna be darned if I put all this documentation and energy in exercising to go back to the pain and the hips and joint shots and the suffering to eat a bag of chips and ice cream. I now, eat, two, I can eat just two, even though they are lays, I don't buy any large bags, I know they go stale fast OR they go fast into my mouth and into my blood stream. So I really take two, whether it be Lays or Pringles.. emoticon

Someone ( no me), in my family eats them everyday almost. I can't convince them to do otherwise... emoticon

That is a good idea. Mom one time drew the Skull and Cross bones on a bag once.
It was a motivation for her to keep out of the potato chips we had 1 yr ago.
Have a good day and see you around! Holly emoticon emoticon

Making the mental adjustment is a big move. Finding a replacement is another big move. May I suggest prepping especially crisp veggies and having them easy to grab in the fridge at all times? Like celery, jicama, and carrot sticks? I really like pork rinds, if they fit into your diet.

What a great name for potato chips. I love it! Pringles are poison here, too. They are not allowed near the shopping cart, much less in the house.

Anything that addictive has got to be bad for you!

Especially Pringles- they're not even chips of real potatoes!
Read the ingredient label closely.

And eventually, you won't have to do that. And you may even discover jus thow bad they really taste.
