I was thinking about the challenge to create a new habit and my three targets for this one. I was considering whether to narrow it down to one goal to focus on for now or to go ahead and work on all three at once.
As I thought about it, it occurred to me that the three are really connected and dependent on the others.
Goal 1: eat more veggies than fruit
Goal 2: limit/eliminate processed foods
Goal 3: Y workouts 3-5 days per week
By eating more veggies, I will reduce my intake of processed foods and have the energy to workout. By limiting processed foods, I will feel better and be more likely to workout plus have room for the veggies because I won't be full from processed junk. By working out at the Y, i will be motivated to continue making healthy choices so I will eat more veggies and less processed foods and will be less likely to snack mindlessly after a workout.
We just got back from a soccer tournament, so my eating this weekend hasn't been the greatest. I made good choices most of the time and will be back on track starting tomorrow. We haven't been grocery shopping, so my choices are limited, but there are some frozen veggies and fruit in the freezer. I can do something with that for breakfast and lunch, then get groceries tomorrow evening. NOT planning to go to the Y in the am!
