New Habits..

Sunday, March 03, 2013

1) What new habit you wish to develop? One of my new habits would be everyday exercise

2) How will you do that? Well start going to the gym for five days a week instead of four.

3) What are you doing to encourage yourself and keep on track? If I can see my weight changing that would be the best encouragement.

4) How are you doing day by day? Doing 10 minutes worth of pushups or jumping jacks daily.

5) What can you improve upon? Portion sizes are an issue with me.

6) Do you need some motivation or advice? Ask for it! I always need encouragement, don't have many real life friends or people I can depend on.

7) Anything else you would like to share with your Team
Not at this time.

    Great habit to get into moving every day even if its just 10 minutes and you will be racking up the fitness minutes emoticon

    That is a great habit to work on. I try to walk my dogs every morning. We usually go on a 20 min loop around the neighborhood. That way if things get crazy later in the day, I know at least I got in a 20 min walk. Good luck!

    This is a great new habit to adopt. Moving everyday is so healthy and will rack up those calories burned for you in a hurry. I try to "rest" one day but was introduced to the concept of "active rest" by another Sparker and what it means is, yes, take a day off from your usual all-out, superhero workout but on that day, don't just sit around. Walk more, do the laundry, clean something for a bit, whatever. I find this way I do get the rest I need to hit the workouts hard again but also still tend to burn a few calories that rest day.
    Your plan sounds great! Reward yourself for every week you meet it! (something silly and cheap and fun like a new nailpolish color or a pair of socks or a new colored pen) You deserve the good treatment.

    I discovered you have to have excellent motivation to get a new good habit to take--the bad ones are easy (the motivation is natural). I have to have coffee every morning--first thing! Well six months ago I decided to stick to walking I would trek a mile to the coffee shop each day. I did not keep coffee in the house. That caffeine fix was just the right motivation. I no longer have to buy that coffee--I want to walk each morning. : }

    The idea came after reading:
