So I made my initial weigh-in for DietBet this morning. Not a pretty number, but it's going to be smaller soon :) The weigh-in was easy, take a picture of the scale with a word they send you, and a picture of you standing on the scale (full length). I submitted my pictures and had them verified within two hours.
I have 9.6 lbs to lose by the weigh-out, which is April 1-2. I'm a little worried because I've been playing with the same 5 pounds for months now, but that's exactly what I've been doing---playing. I haven't been exercising regularly. I haven't been counting my calories. I haven't been drinking my water. And I have been cheating more than regularly.
So this is a wake up call. I think if I really focus and start working out regularly, counting my calories, and upping my water, I can definitely meet that 9.6 lbs, or maybe even more this time. If I do well, I may alternate months because I think it may be a little unrealistic to try to lose 4% every single month. There are bound to be plateaus. So we shall see!
I will keep updating about it as the month goes on (and of course at the end) in case anyone is curious but skeptical. I was skeptical at first but I think they have it set up well.
