Back on track

Between work and health issues both for myself and Plex's grandmother, I've been a very naughty girl. I have not been tracking, heck I wasn't even testing my blood sugar or taking my meds! This has to stop now!

This morning I tested my sugar, and I am at 149. Not good. I took my meds like I should, drank my coffee, and waited a bit before eating. Plex made me a couple of egg and cheese sandwiches for breakfast, and I managed to max my protein (believe it or not that's very difficult for me to do), stayed within my carb range, but went over by 5grams on my carbs and 4 on my calories. That's ok. I probably won't hit it on my lunch, so it will balance in the end. Once I am done my coffee, I will switch over to water until I have my 8 glasses for the day. Today is traditionally a day of rest from exercise, so we shall see.

We got word on Plex's grandmother on Friday. Right now she is in a holding pattern. Apparently they can't operate until one of her medications is out of her systems, otherwise she won't clot properly (which sounds weird since she's having a clot removed, but trust me it makes sense), so until it's out of her system she will remain in the hospital. Hopefully it won't be much longer, but she is in the right place should things go wrong.

I have had a pretty pleasant 2 days off so far. I am hoping today is the same. The weather is pretty decent (no snow or rain), and I can hear birds chirping. In a few weeks I will be spring cleaning the house! WOOT!! I love this time!

My cold is almost gone. I stil blow my nose alot, but I am not coughing up a lung or anything anymore, so this is progress. I've been getting some good rest (at least 7 hours a night, with last night being 8 hours), and I feel alert again. Just what I need to be to get back on track.

I didn't weigh in this morning, as I am actually afraid of the scale. I'm going to get my routine back on track for a few weeks before I look to see how much damage I did. My smaller clothes are fitting me still nicely (don't feel the slightest bit tight), so I am pretty sure I didn't do too much damage, but all the same the number on the scale can be discouraging to me. I will go with measurements instead for a little bit,

    I hope that things go smoothly and quickly for Plex's Mamaw. And I feel ya on the rest - I am also getting over a cold and am getting back on track too.

    I hope she gets what she needs soon. I am glad you are starting to feel better. Don't worry about the scale, just do what you need to do.

    Its great you want to get back to your normal schedule. I went on vacation and I found it had to keep on track. I am trying to work on getting back to my schedule.

    I have found out I need to track my food no matter what else I do...just because!!! You can do it!!!

    Glad you're feeling better.

Well, hope that medication clears out of Plex's Grandma's system quickly. **SIGH** Life is such a delicate balance, and one little thing can tip the scales.
