My First Blog Ever!

Well, with the start of a new month, March, I guess it's time to start a new project. I'm slowly making progress toward a healthy lifestyle after decades of neglect. Finding SparkPeople has been a dream come true for me! The Nutrition Tracker has been especially helpful - I never paid attention to what and how much I have been eating! Now that I can see how many calories are in my favorite foods (uh-oh!) and, even more eye-opening, how much fat I have been eating, I've been able to be more conscious of my intake. Have lost 12 pounds without really doing more than being aware! The best way for me is to track what I eat before I actually eat it - if my hair stands on end, I eat less!!! Lol!
Guess that's enough for today - this may be sporadic, but I'm game to keep trying to blog...

    Congratulations on losing 12 lbs! I agree that tracking what you eat is soooooo important. Like you, I have been tracking every bite and sip I take and I look at options before I settle on what will really fit for that day. Good luck! emoticon

    You don't have to blog every day. Many of us don't. But it is really helpful, I find, to share honestly where I am on the journey. If I "fall off the wagon", I come here and blog about it --not to beat myself up, but to be accountable. I own it, and then let it go.

    And my SparkFriends are so encouraging, so supportive.

    Congrats on the 12 lb loss! I agree that the calorie tracker is the BEST tool. Couldn't believe what I was consuming daily! Keep it up!
