It's taken me this long to get time to post a blog as it was a very busy week for me. Our homeschool group had a geography day (U.S.) and I helped with the presentation of that as well as I gave one about my homestate, South Carolina. For that presentation I made my grandmother's pound cake (we brought a food that was normally eaten from the area you came from) and let me tell you that was a very hard temptation to avoid.
I did manage a little sliver of it (my first taste of cake in a few years) and it was worth it for sure, LOL. It is very rich and has a full pound of butter, 6 eggs, etc. so you can imagine the calories! Luckily I only took home 4 slices out of this large cake as it was devoured!
Our next class will be owl pellet dissection, which I am over, so have to get busy with that soon.
I have been very lethargic lately due to lack of sleep (keep waking up at 3:30 a.m. and can't get back to sleep) as well as female issues that just knock me out.
After our class I did manage to stop at one store with my daughter since her birthday is this month and she has been dying to get a Croc-A-Dile (or something like that) for craft making and Michael's had a 50% off coupon that I could use for it. It's normally $30, so glad that I waited until that coupon came out.
Yesterday I managed to get some items tagged and sorted for the church consignment sale I have to drop off at this upcoming Thursday (and another one next week too). All I really wanted to do was stay in bed, but I know I have to get it done soon so I'm not panicking Wednesday.
Today I'm going to try to get more of that done, get my coupon box purged of expired coupons from February (normally have it done by now, but have been too busy), and maybe run to my favorite discount dollar store to see if they have any great deals. I have no choice really as we are out of milk (too tired to get it Friday while in town) so will combine all the places in the town I'm going to so that I can get more accomplished and can hopefully save some money too.
