THE FEELING OF SECURITY
Everyone likes the feeling of security. Knowing we have all we need when we need it is important but we should be careful where we look for security. There are so many things in the world that seem to offer security. There are people we may depend on for security. Some of us believe security is having the money or things we need. However, our trust should be in God. He is all the security we need in all things. Getting to absorbed in money and other things will lead us down the wrong path.
1 Timothy 6:17 “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, help us today to know that all we need is You. You can give us far more security than anything or anyone in the world can. We put our trust, our hope, our lives in Your hands. We know You will give us what we need, when we need it. Help us not to be proud or trust our money, but to simply trust You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
We should put our hope and trust in God alone. He is all we need to feel secure.
When others are worried and confused, we should remind them to put their hope only in God.
Getting to absorbed in money and other things will lead us down the wrong path.
1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.” (NLT)
