Day 2 blog of 5% challenge- Consistency-how?

2) How will you do that (develop new habit)?

Yesterday I talked about how I needed to work on consistency.
Today: How will I do that?
Logging everything
- even in the evening which has been my biggest challenge
- even if I've gone over my limit
- even when I don't feel like logging
(I've downloaded the SparkPeople tracking App onto my mobile device and this really helps a lot in staying on track.)
What I won't do however, is feel like I have failed if I'm not perfect. This has been a problem for me in the past and has given me licence to continue indulging since I've already "blown" it.

    Logging is so important and seeing that you may have gone over range is just another tool to remind yourself to track so that way you know! Good luck!

Someone once said it like this - If you dropped your phone, would you then start stomping on it? :) That really hit home for me because I love my phone! Just because you go a little over in calories doesn't mean you should "stomp the phone"!

    Yup when we don't do something perfectly we need to stop beating ourselves up for it. We need to relax and let it go. and keep going...
Of course, that is easier said than done! lol
Affirmation: "I no longer wait to be perfect in order to love myself. I am doing the best that I can. We are all doing the best we can." etc. :) emoticon emoticon

    Exxcellent advice!!! Striving for progress vs. perfection will get you to your accomplishment.

I always think of it this way. When I've had a bad day -- blown it -- it's like getting a speeding ticket. A big 'UH OH!', but does that mean you spend the rest of the day breaking that and other driving rules of the road? Ummm . . . not a good idea! You take it as a less -- slow down -- and you make it a conscious effort to follow those fules! You don't blow the rest of the day.

At least that kind of helps me "visualize" in my brain when I'm tempted to NOT learn my lesson and not do what I should (or do what I shouldn't!)

One Meal at a Time
One Exercise Session at a Time
One Snack at a Time

We need to start after a slip, to continue on, not wait til Monday to start over. We can do it!

    Are you reading my mind? I had a less than stellar first week of the challenge and am having trouble turning myself around. But I'm sticking with it no matter what and am aiming for change in the right direction TODAY. emoticon
