I was talking with a co-worker of mine about how I am trying to switch to clean eating and she directed me to this site called, www.100daystorealfood.com. This website is a GREAT resource. The author outlines 14 week mini-pledges for becoming clean eaters. This is perfect for me! I need mini step by steps. So today, I took what she had and added my own spin on it. I changed it up to fit what I need and what my family needs at this point. I also took some information from www.thegraciouspantry.com. She has great resources that are family friendly as well. Below is my week by week plan and my goal is to blog about each week at the start and the finish. I will also continue working out. My cousins, brother and I decided to run a 5k in June that is exactly 15 weeks away so it is the perfect timing. I will continue the pledges until then, as well as train using the couch to 5k program to get my exercise it! I am excited about this plan.
Week 1: Drink more water and track food
Week 2: Two fruits and/or vegetables per meal
Week 3: No Fast Food (this one may take 2 weeks for me)
Week 4: No Refined sweeteners
Week 5: Detox cleans with clean eating or raw foods only (no sugar this week)
Week 6: Try two new whole foods
Week 7: No Low-fat, lite or Nonfat food products
Week 8:100% whole grain
Week 9: No Sweeteners
Week 10: Stop eating when you feel full
Week 11: Nothing Artificial
Week 12: No more than 5-ingredients
This gives me two weeks leeway because the fast food will probably take two weeks. My goal is to maintain the previous pledge and move on to the next. She provided great resources and guidelines.
Anyone else out there want to take the challenge/pledge with me?!?!?
