want to shoot the scales

Saturday, March 02, 2013

I know we need to remember that we are more than a number on the scale. And we need to enjoy the NSC
But some times you want to shoot the scales! The Gym I go to is having a challenge this month from March 4 to April 16. We had to weight in by Friday so I did it on Tuesday after Bloomsday training. The gym has 2 scales I like the brown best and showed my weight at 163 pounds when I went to our training class this morning (Sat) the trainer said that they decided to use the white scales so ever one has to re weigh. one of the trainers thinks the white on is more accurate since it cost more .
Donít like that scales it came up with 167! A four pound gain from Tuesday to today find it hard to take as I have been good and no mindless eating .(that happened on Sunday Monday ) I went back and re read notes from my Spark friends and felt better still not happy with a four pound gain but like my brother says it is what it is. Glad I gave my scales to the rummage sale or I would have three scales to fight with and not just the two at the gym.

That is hard to take and I sympathise but you know in your heart that what really matters is that the numbers will go down and that you will be healthier. emoticon

I have 2 Weight Watcher scales at home. One hubby uses, and an older one I use. I weight about 2 lbs, more on hubby's...
I feel as long as you weigh yourself on the same scale all the time you will get a true weight loss. emoticon
Have no fear, you will do fine.

Love your humor about having 3 scales to fight with, if you hadn't gotten rid of 2!
I HATE scales. They are only good to me for 1 day out of a month and that is it!

I hope you have a GREAT week ahead, Fran!

I understand completely as I can fluctuate 6 pounds overnight and I just have one scales to deal with! Water weight is a crushing, blow to me, ever time it happens, then the roller coaster comes and I am ever so happy to see it gone, as fast as it came!
It's like the times I had my children...each in the 7.2-7.9 range.
You would think you would loose weight, at birth, right? Not me! I gained 12 pounds with each of them, right after giving birth!
I also gained when I had my tonsils out and hardly ate! Crazy.
Well what are you going to do. KEEP ON GOING! I find that instead of getting mad (and I still do at times) it helps to laugh like a crazy woman! emoticon

I know you will conquer the scales, be them brown, white or purple. emoticon

emoticon emoticon You have many who totally understand! Just keep on the path though. Hopefully as long as you use the same scale, next time it will show a loss.

I know when I go to the Drs. office it is always 5 lbs. heavier than my scale @ home. I know my electronic scale is calibrated (I take my 10 lb. weight, put it on the scale and it reads 10 lbs.) Soooo...hang in there.

Shoot the scale!!! I have made it a point to never join a challenge that involves numbers on the scale. My body just doesn't lose like that! Maybe if you jumped up and down on it, it would break and they'd have to go back to the other one!!!! Just joking .... LOL! emoticon There is no emoticon on SP that shows a shotgun firing at a scale or I would post it here!
