Week 7 is all done..well almost done. I am cross training tomorrow and did my long run today.
I ran a very successful 12 miles today on the treadmill. I say it was successful because I finished my 12 miles and I didnt feel like death afterwards.
Becuase I run on a treadmill at my gym I have to reset my treadmill every 60 minutes. So the first 60 minutes I did 12 minute miles (5 miles total), my husband joined my gym today (YEAH) so he was on the treadmill next to me chatting with me and those 5 miles seemed to go by quickly and smoothly. Once those 5 miles were over I took the opportunity to quickly use the restroom, eat 1/2 of my Stinger Waffle and get back to it. The next 5 miles were completed in 56 minutes, and then I re-set the treadmill for my final 2 miles with a total time of 137 minutes for 12 miles.
Not my fastest running but considering this is the longest run I have ever completed on a treadmill I will take it. And again, I am not terribly concerned with my time. The miles mean more to me at this point!
Week 8 looks very similar to week 7:
Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: 3 Miles
Thursday: 3 miles
Saturday: Cross Train/Rest
Sunday: 13.1 Miles
I am supposed to have a rest day before my long run this week because i am technically supposed to run a half marathon race. Well, I live in WI and it's cold. There are not a lot of 1/2 marathons going on so I plan on just running 13.1 next weekend and maybe try doing it outside. We will see.
As I mentioned I am doing my cross training tomorrow with my husband before we take our kids to family swim at the gym. I hope everyone had a great week and Happy March!!
