New habit for the Winter Challenge

Saturday, March 02, 2013

I really need to eat more vegetables and fruits! I will add at least one vegetable and a fruit a day, because right now, I go days without eating any! And I love veggies and fruit, so I don't know why I don't eat them more!

Well, actually, I do know why. I am afraid they will go bad before I can eat them, so I seldom buy more than what I want to eat that day, so if I don't go to the store that day, I don't eat any. I will change that this week:)

Suz, if you want to have them more readily available. Get a 'platter' of them at the store, all cleaned, cut and ready to go. A simple way to have them ever ready in the fridge..

Sue Sounds like a great new habit. I often have frozen veggies because they are convenient. Also salads whenever possible.

Wouldn't it be lovely to live like the Europeans do and have a fresh market for daily shopping!! Oh well, most of us don't have that luxury. Good for you that you're working to change your mindset.

Sounds like a great task to focus on. emoticon

I eat a lot of produce. Some items spoil quickly, but most things can last in the fridge at least a week(if not longer). Berries usually have the shortest shelf life. Maybe you can start off with a few items a week, that way you don't waste anything, but you have some options. Good luck!

We grow quite a lot and freeze them and I also buy frozen veges in winter. I think they are a good substitute for fresh and don't go off! Good luck with your freggie habit!

I buy veggies, put them in the fridge in the veggie drawer and then often forget about them!
