To kickstart my spring fitness program, I opted for Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. For those of you that are not familiar, her video consists of 3 levels, each to be done for 10 days. Each level contains a warm up, cool down, and 3, 6min circuits.
Day 1, Level 1. I really didn't think I was in too bad a shape but boy oh boy! Jillian kicked my booty! I anticipate being quite sore tomorrow. The first circuit was very intense and I wasn't sure I was going to survive the next 20 minutes, but after the first circuit, the rest wasn't so bad. I am really glad I did it. I added to the cool down by completing a YogAmazing video too. Hopefully the extra stretching will help warding off any soreness.
A question for anyone else out there that has done the 30 day shred. What size weights did you use? I used 5lbs, and they seemed like bricks after the last reps for most things. On the side lunges with raises I needed to use soup cans. Think about possibly downgrading to 3lbs.
