We had a historical blizzard in the Texas panhandle early in the week. It made national news. We were snowed in for two days! My daughter, Anna, has been really sick. Took her to the doctor and she's on antibiotics for strep. DH has been sick too. Had a (really) bad day at work on Thursday. I finally got sick as well - chest congestion, body aches, the whole nine yards. It has been hard to skip my workouts, but I know that I harp on my friends to rest when they are sick, so I took my own advice.
Had some great highlights to this week as well! I was invited to co-lead the At Goal and Maintaining + Transition to Maintenance team. Super proud to be part of the team and even more so to be considered a leader. I also lost weight this week. Quite a bit for my size. I'm really happy with my weight, but joined the 5% Winter challenge for fun and certainly don't mind if I drop a few more. Not getting too excited about this one just yet. Will have to see if it sticks.
Now for the best highlight of the week! My girls see me exercise. For a long time I was only mildly aware of this. But more and more I realize that they are modeling my healthy behavior! Last night the girls played an exercise game on their iPod, did a fun kids cardio video on youtube and finished up with a kids yoga video! I showed them the new game on the iPod, but the rest was with no prompting by me. Anna started coughing really bad so I didn't get a picture of her, but here's Emma feeling the burn (the sweat band was her idea!).
For the 5% Winter Challenge we are blogging about a new habit this week. Mine is exercise with the kids. We do this off and on, but I want it to become a steady habit. Everyone have a great week!
