Room For Improvement!

Saturday, March 02, 2013

I have lots of room for improvement here! Since I have to blog every day, maybe I should tackle this one first.

How do I intend to improve?

I've got the water down, so now I think I will watch my portions. I'm okay with everything but the protein and bread. I added back bread for fiber. I love the Ancient Grains - can't you tell? lol

If I know there is something I can't live without, I'm not going to fight it any longer.

Cutting down instead of giving it up is a good idea! I am giving it a go!
I love ancient grains too! Do you like Spelt? They grew it here long ago!

I am last to get here, you posted after I turned off the

Great idea to have what you love and just watch the portion sizes. Nothing worse than cutting something out to make you crave it night and day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Helen, I know all about the bread dilemma, the rice dilemma and worst of all the pasta dilemma, so many dilemmas. Balance, portion control, that's where it's at. You're right to not deny yourself completely or you'll just end up binging. You'll find the right balance for you and find good health in the process.
I have every faith in you that you will do it, and I'm cheering you on!!!

I teach the "plate method" to my patients.....1/2 fruits and veggies, 1/4 grains, 1/4 protein. I know calories in must be less than calories out, but if I overeat fruits and veggies, I don't feel like I've "cheated" too badly.

Good to see you blogging again. I miss your insights. Those pesky portions tend to grow over time if not measured/weighed occasionally if not every day. You just can't take anything for granted it seems. Bread has always been my "red light" food - carb=comfort don'cha know!
