March 2 Updates

-Received my new scale a couple of days ago. In the past couple of weeks, my body fat has dropped 1.5-3% yet my weight is a couple of pounds higher. It could be scale variance, however my sister's husband has commented he can tell that I am looking more toned with the bathroom renovation work I have been doing. Now that I have a scale, I can track specific results more consistently. I'll have more accurate results once I have a 7 day average of the bodyfat #'s.

-Still keeping up my goal of working out 6 days a week w/strength work, however this week I am using the remodeling work as my workouts. I was wearing myself out trying to do both a normal workout and 8 hours of renovations each day. Also made me realize I was falling into a semi-rut with my routines and I'd like to change things up more frequently.

-Snacking and not tracking foods has gotten worse this week. Renovation makes me super hungry. Weight loss is at least 65-70% diet, so... need to improve. Mom still leaving snack foods... everywhere.

-Having trouble gauging how many calories I burn doing renovation work. Am considering getting another Bodymedia device or maybe a Fitbit. My Bodymedia device died shortly after I jumped on the pool with it last fall. Grrr. When I am not doing renovation work and just doing my own workouts, I think I do a pretty good job of calorie estimation on my own.

-Still need to lose the last 15 lbs. IT IS ANNOYING!

-Have somewhat lost sight of my goals during this renovation. One thing I need to improve up is keeping focus on my own goals when a big project comes up. I sometimes get OCD with completing the project and my goals fall to the side of the road. Hope to get the bathroom renovation done this weekend so I can re-focus on my workouts and other goals.

    I also see a slight weight jump/ body fat drop combination. I've also seen a weight drop and body fat increase. Based what I'm doing when these happen, I suspect that the weight gain/body fat drop denotes an increase in muscle. I too am getting slimmer but no real change on the scale right now.

    I would recommend reading Bob Harper's "The Skinny Rules". There is real science behind his suggestions. These are lifestyle / nutrition rules, not some crazy list. It's been educational for me. I've just about done reading and will be blogging about my implementation. It might really help you with the last 15 lbs.

    I can't imagine doing renovation and a regular workout lol. Yay for the new scale, I have been looking at the bodymedia devices for a while, but I have yet to decide on one I really want to replace my broken fitbit. Hope you have a great weekend!
