My March goals

Saturday, March 02, 2013

I feel like I have been a SLUG lately; I am having a hard time getting motivated. March will be a tough month, because my DH is having hip surgery next week. This will be the 3rd time on this hip in 2 1/2 years! He had his initial hip replacement in September 2010; within a few months, the rod slipped and he was back in surgery 6 months later, in March 2011. There were a comedy of errors with that surgery (we have to laugh, or we would give up and say "what's the use"?), and he began having more pain again. He saw a different surgeon, who will do the revision on Wednesday.

So, my goals for this month is to get myself moving more and do some form of exercise EVERY day. This is calming for my soul and helps me find balance. It will be difficult sometimes to fit in more than a few minutes, because I will still be working, taking off days when he has follow up appointments or needs to go to physical therapy. Because it takes me an hour one way to work, they will be long days. I will also have to cook on the weekends, so DH has food while I am gone and he won't have to worry about getting a meal. This is an added stressor to my day, because DH has been retired for 3 years now and does the majority of the cooking. He is also a diabetic, so the food must be healthy for him.....helps to keep me on track too, since no junk food should be in the house.

1. exercise every day
2. eat healthy, preparing meals on the weekends
3. be to work on time (something that is so difficult on a normal day - good thing I don't punch a clock!)
4. declutter 15 minutes every day
5. spend time with God daily
6. find time to spend with family

I thinking have a plan is most important. I do well when I divide up my plate appropriately. It's when I just don't have an appetite for the "sitting down to dinner" schedule and eat haphazardly that does me in.

Your good plan will get you through!

You have a lot on your plate. Breaking everything down into 6 goals will really help you to focus on what's truly important to you. Great goals.
