I can't say that I've had a great week...I've gained weight. Three pounds. Yup, that time of the month is just around the corner so hopefully it will disappear very soon.
This week's main challenge was fun. The only show that I consistently watch every week is Coronation Street, so I used it for my workout game. For anyone who isn't familiar with the show, it's basically a British soap. It's full of lots of crazy drama and English slang. Most of the show takes place in the pub or people's living rooms so people always have a cup of tea or some kind of a drink in their hand. My game is still in progress...I keep adding to it as I notice more expressions that they use all the time, but here is my current version of it:
Prairie Mum's Coronation Street Workout Game
~Someone "puts the kettle on" - twenty ab crunches
~A mug of tea is handed to someone - twenty butt-kickers
~Someone says "cuppa" - twenty bicep curls
~Someone calls someone a "cow" - twenty triceps extensions
~Someone calls someone a "daft cow" - twenty shoulder presses
~For each sip of tea - five jumping jacks
~For each sip of any other drink - one squat
~A phone call is made/answered - five calf raises
~Someone is holding a baby - five push ups
~ A "full English" breakfast/fry up is mentioned - twenty scissor kicks
~Each commercial break - plank for 30 seconds
I hadn't realized just how frequently Coronation Street features people drinking alcoholic beverages! I mean, it happens a lot in the pub scenes but I didn't realize how constant it was! I tried my game twice and I did a whole lot of squats. I'm going to keep tweaking it so that I get a little bit of an all over workout.
