How about 5/2 diet?

Heard about the 5/2 diet today...... eat 500 cal or less per day 2 non consecutive days a week, and
eat what I want the other 5 days. As this sounds too good to be true I will have to give it a try.
Anyone else doing this one????

    I just started it recently, and have done 2 days so far, 3rd will be tomorrow. I cannot believe how utterly fantastic I feel on it. A total night and day difference.

  I only heard about it today and i'm doing some research. I know traditionally Orthodox Christianity has 2 fast days per week, in addition to stricter Lenten fasts and such. It's an ancient rhythm of life perhaps that might work well. I read a couple of blogs and the folks who tried it didn't feel they were drastically more hungry on the other days (i.e. it didn't tend to make them overeat) and one woman said she found it actually helped reduce her carb cravings... I'm very tempted to give it a try. It doesn't seem like it would be unhealthy at all (barring if you have a diagnosed health issue like diabetes or something), since you fast specifically, mindfully, and only 2 days per week.

    Hmmmm... those 500 calorie days would not work for me! And like someone else said, I might overeat the other days!

    I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS. BUT I WOULD THINK THAT YOU WOULD BE VERY TEMPTED TO OVEREAT ON THE OTHER DAYS AS YOU WOULD BE SO HUNGRY FROM THOSE 500 CALORIE DAYS. I DON'T THINK I COULD HANDLE THAT.

    It seems to be the sort of thing I will do for a day...then I will binge all night. This one is not for me.

    It sounds unhealthy and unrealistic to me. Why not just eat healthy for 7 days, add some fitness, and forget about diets?

    It doesn't sound healthy to me. I would rather just lower my calorie intake each day but not down to 500. Hope it works for you!
