Didn't have a good day today.

I guess today was one of many days that I have to look forward to in taking care of my husband. Dementia has set in and I got a BIG dose of it today. If this is what I have to look forward to, I better prepare myself for what's coming, because I've been told that it's going to get worse.
Today was a busy day for me and I'm tired. I am going to get some rest and tomorrow is a new day. I hope it's better than today.

    I am so sorry about your husband. We are dealing with my Mom in the same situation. My Aunt and Uncle live with her to help. I am in charge of all medical decisions. My Youngest sis and Uncle deal with the money. Send me a message anytime! emoticon

    Yes, make sure you take help when it's offered. Not only do you need the breaks, but others that might offer help will get those moments with him that will stay with them forever, maybe even help them to understand better for their future. A burnt-out caregiver is no good for herself or others. I speak from experience and pray for you.

    I can relate and understand. Have gone through this twice with dh's parents and now my mother. I understand the constant repeating and it is so sad they can't remember what time of day , or week it is. My hubby had a stroke in 2004 and his memory was affected along with his eyesight and I know that this will also get worse. He was only 61 when this happened. I have faith in God that he will supply our needs as we come to these situations. emoticon
