walking programs

Friday, March 01, 2013

I MOVED AGAIN :) Seeing as the closest stop for the public bus system is quite a ways from where I live now, I have to laugh at all the beginners walking programs I find online.

Why do they think people only walk for 15 minutes a day...4-7 days a week. It will take me longer then that just to reach the bus stop. But I really want to go to the library so I might end up walking closer to an hour each way. Now thats only a guess. I will have to remember to time myself and then keep track of the time to see how I improve later on.

Prevention magazine even has a "Super Fat Blast" walking work-out; that only lasts 10 minutes from warmup-to-cool down. Now how much at can you honestly blast off with 10 minutes??

! thing I shoulda bought today at the store was a cloth tape measure. I want to keep track of inches in my thighs, hips & waist; to see if I can REALLY make a difference by walking. Sure I have read other people's success stories, but I want to see if I can keep it going long enough to write my own.

Good Night; for now

I love walking where I can, but everything is so far away here that I can't. I am looking forward to riding my bike a lot of places this summer. Have fun getting in shape while doing things you need and enjoy.

Every little bit helps but I agree that just 10 minutes of walking doesn't really do that much as far as the "fat blasting". I'll be interested to see what kind of change you'll be noticing. Don't expect it to happen super fast but I'm sure that it'll make a difference, especially if you visit the library a lot.
