I can't believe this, but.....guess what?? Knock on wood - that was the end of that affliction!! It only lasted a matter of hours. I got a good night's sleep and it was GONE in the morning!!! This never would've happened before I joined SP. I'm stunned at how my body is throwing off everything that gets thrown at it. It's making a real believer of me. There really is something to this concept that cardio & ST make for a stronger immune system. And to think...I don't even have a spleen and was told when I lost it that one of it's functions was to bolster the immune system. They said I'd have to be careful and should get a pneumovax (sp?) shot every 5 years. I did that during the first few 5 year intervals but haven't gotten one in ages. This year the kids on the bus have had stomach flu, regular flu, lice, colds, 24 hr. bugs, pink eye and I never got any of it. And, I haven't gotten a flu shot for at least the past 6 years. Maybe it was a whole lot of luck, but I'm very thankful it's gone!!
We've had a string of cold, rainy days with snow flurries thrown in. It's muddy everywhere so it's not good for walking outside. It's just been cold, damp & dreary. I've been doing most of the cardio walking inside. The stairs that lead to the 2nd floor are in the living room. I've been adding a 'step' routine to the walking cardio where I step up & down on the ground floor step quickly, until I can really feel it, then just carry on with the cardio walking and repeat the process several times at different intervals. It seems to add good variety to the routine. Today's mileage: 9.66 miles.
ST session ~ core; upper body.
DH picked up Subway sandwiches for our lunch. That was a treat!! Tasted so good. Love their turkey breast & veggie subs.
