Day 3.1--New

Feels new. Can't believe it's March already.

Been a little melancholy today. No reason behind it, just missing my kitty a lot for some reason--enough to cry for a while. I don't imagine I'll ever stop crying about it.

Trainer day today. His purpose right now is to introduce me to a variety of different exercises--beyond the 'usual' stuff that everyone knows and does. He really likes using bosu and stability balls, and focuses a lot on exercises that either work whole parts of the body, or use the body's natural movements (dumbbells as opposed to machines, for example). I've decided to stick to a few regular exercises on my 'on my own' days to increase my lifts, and just go with the randomness of trainer days. Incorporate what he's showing me when I get bored. I do like the triple supersets a lot though--good cardio in there as well. :)

Started training for 5k on Tuesday. Tues run on the treadmill, Thurs outside, and man do my shins feel it. I forgot that I get shin splints from running outside, at least initially. I need new shoes as well-these current ones have no arch support left in them. Been putting it off because I don't want to shell out the cash, but I don't think I'm doing myself any favors.
