Happy friday, one and all!
Hopefully you guys had a good day. I went to the state capitol with AJ's group today and listened to them perform... they won a statewide ensemble championship. They did 7 vocal pieces and sounded amazing!! (of course I'm prejudiced)
We went to IHOP this afternoon after the performance. I did the 2x2x2 light version, so it had 400 calories. AND I shared my pancakes. AND I took off one of the pats of butter. So yeah. That's a grand achievement! I haven't tracked all my food yet, but I feel confident that I'm right where I need to be.
We probably spent 2 hours in the mall. The capitol has a 4-story mall (our local one is barely one floor, lol) and we covered 3 floors easily. My hip and my feet are paying the price right now and I don't know how far we actually walked but it felt like, I don't know, 200 miles. In the wrong shoes.
I do not have a gps. So I had to follow the school bus 2 hours north to the civic center. I am cheap (and broke) so I didn't want to pay for parking at the venue, so I turned around to go back to the public lot I saw a couple of blocks back. This man started flashing his lights and waving his arm out the window... and I realized I was going the wrong way down a one-way street. Go me. So, quick U-ie across 4 lanes (who even has a 4-lane, one-way? What. The Heck.) and got back on track. Then after the performance, go to the mall, yet another parking fiasco, this time I DID have to pay for parking, turned wrong into the short-term lot, then turned into the handicapped lot, before finally getting into the right section to go up into the garage.
I promise I am normally not this stupid.
So, leaving the garage, I totally got to drive down that spiral exit loop on the outside of the building that reminds me of the Little People's garage we had when we were little (does anyone else remember those?). Definitely the most fun I had all day! And guess what? I went the right way, lol!
I did get to stop by and see my daddy on the way home. I haven't seen him since his birthday 6 weeks ago because of the weather and sickness and everything. He was so happy to see us! His smile made my day :)
My bestie's dad had to have a pacemaker put in today after a really bad scare yesterday. He is only a couple of years older than my dad, and these things really make me thankful that my dad's in good health. I know that any day could be my day to get that kind of news, so I'm thankful for every minute I have with him.
Anyway, I'm going to get busy on homework. I've read my plaw stuff but still have to complete my revision and get my math turned in. I'm gonna focus on the math so I'll have the rest of the wkend to finish the memo.
How about this for a March challenge: make sure you love on your family every day this month (even if it's only with a phone call, and even if it's someone who is just LIKE family). Pay your good fortune and good health forward by sharing a good attitude.
I love my Spark family :)
