Well, it's March already! Time is definitely not standing still. I think I lost around 7 pounds for the month of February. I'll take it! It's not a gain!! February is usually a hard month for me emotionally since my Papa passed on the 19th in 2001 (I wish I didn't remember that day, but I do) & my Granny's birthday would've been on the 17th but she's in heaven too. My dad's birthday was the 15th. He wasn't the best dad, but he was MY dad & God gave him the job of being my dad for a reason. He was only 59 years old when he passed. Rest in love dad! So yeah, Feb is usually a month of depression for me where I would eat myself into a bigger pant size, but by prayer & the love of my family, I made it!
Let's see, my sibling's birthday were also in Feb. My brother (Feb 7th) is 42 & my lil' sis (Feb 18th) is 41. We are so opposite to the point I really think I was adopted. My mom isn't telling me something!! LOL
My husband's birthday was on Feb 23rd. We had a big dinner party for him & yes I had cake...two pieces! Yikes! It was so good & I didn't sweat it. I enjoyed it! I just worked out later. I got this!
For Valentine's Day (we celebrate on Feb 11th since we met on that date), we added a spin bike to our home gym. I'm not liking it too much. The seat is so uncomfortable. You would think I had enough cushion.
My last blog, I wanted to start getting up early to workout. That has only happened a couple of times since I was having several low blood sugars through out the night. I'm getting an insulin pump with a sensor, so hopefully, that will alert me when I'm having a low or if my levels get too high. I'm sort of excited since I ordered a pink insulin pump! I'll post a picture once I'm hooked up.
Also, I saw the surgeon about my leg numbness & tingling and he really doesn't want to do surgery on my spine as my first choice. He's going to give me some injection & hope that stops the numbness & tingling. If it doesn't, then I'll have to have surgery.
I've been doing pretty well with my workouts. I'm trying to implement new things so I don't get bored. I'll try Zumba every once in awhile, but I don't attend enough to know the routines. I do better with the Zumba dvd. Maybe I'll just stick with that. I love step aerobics!! Strength training is at a minimal since I have tendinitis in my shoulder. Physical therapy doesn't seem to be helping.
This month starts my 5K training. I'm excited, but also nervous. I don't want to walk the whole time. I know I can run, but something is stopping me from running. Even when I'm on the treadmill. I "try" to run during the commercials, but I will stop after only a minute. What's up with that??!! When I was about 25 pounds lighter, I would run for 30 mins at speed 6. I know big girls can run just like the smaller ones, so what is holding me back? I'll figure it out soon.
