Almost sprung

Spring, that is. And I for one am pretty dam' glad. I have completely lost my SparkMojo the last few weeks and I am very sure it will reappear as soon as the temperature outside gets up to 10C (50F) and stays there.

This, we have been promised as of Sunday. Do not speak to me of further possible cold snaps: I am not prepared to countenance them. I don't remember such a prolonged cold spell in years but that may be because for the last 14 years I've had reliable central heating and at the moment I haven't owing to my now defunct boiler.

In any case, tomorrow I have promised us all a nice long walk, minus Stonecot who is doing something else this weekend (she has not specified what, but you could go have a look at her sparkpage to see if she's divulging).

The nice weather forecast that I want to believe says 7C for tomorrow which is quite good enough to walk in. The other weather forecast says 5C, but let's be positive. I'm positive if I don't go for a hike tomorrow I'll have lost my remaining marbles by tomorrow evening. One of them has just rolled under the sofa, hotly pursued by a cat, and I can't spare any more.

I planned a walk and guesstimated the distance and gave myself such a fright at the total I've gone into denial and can't remember what I thought it came to. I'm going to start early (hah! we'll see about that) to get the best of the light. By the time you in the States all get out of bed tomorrow I'll allegedly be out somewhere thrashing my way through undergrowth, looking for signs of spring. Snowdrops, birds nesting, daffodils, that sort of thing.

One thing we can be certain I'll find.

Mud.

PS: please don't mention St David's day, one of my colleagues who is Welsh brought in a quantity of welshcakes and I succumbed. Twice.

Enjoy your walk tomorrow. I saw my first daffodils today on my walk. It was so exciting! Mine are coming up, but haven't bloomed yet. Spring is on its way. Finally! This winter seemed so long.

Not even close to 10C/50F here. High 25-30F for at least a week. I'm still walking indoors, at the shopping mall, and using elliptical machines.

Still sweatshirt, scarf, and jacket weather here, with the possibility of sn*w Wednesday going into Thursday. The shrubbery is beginning to look a bit soft around the edges though, you know that "fuzzy" look it gets in very early spring? No forsythia or even crocuses yet, although I have smelled skunks! When they wake up from hibernating, you know it's Spring!

I won't mention St. David's b/c I must confess total ignorance. I also won't mention the ridiculous weather in my part of the world. But moving on, we all succumb to temptations now and then. Not to worry. Just keep sparking, keep walking and you'll reach your goals. Can't wait to read about your walk tomorrow. Enjoy yourself!

We're having our spring tease today and tomorrow -- about 50 F both days. Then it's back to more or less normal, about freezing for highs, 20F or so less for lows. The snow has become ice and is gradually giving way, so now the streets are mud!! Spring is lurking around the corner here...

Tiz still freezing here and snow on the ground.
I don't need any holiday to eat goodies.
Which makes it really hard if every day
might be a holiday...

Thought mud made the walks all the more interesting? (Just kidding).
I am with you on the cold, it's been cold and damp here on the East Coast (US)
for over a week and now they are talking about (what always becomes a major snow) March snow tomorrow night. The ground has been cold all week so it should make thing interesting.
Good Luck on your walk and I will hope that you find spring breaking through, because that means we're only 5 hours behind emoticon

Hope you found some signs of spring on your walk like maybe one of your nice neighbors hung a pretty spring wreath on their door or maybe a bunny holding daffodils and so on. : ) Ah mud is good!!
Enjoy the week-end.

not too much mud here, it hasn't really rained in quite a while.
Make sure you have good quantities of factor 30 ready for the sunshine!

When does the boiler start working again? I think you deserve a medal for going without central heating

Can't wait for the next installment- if I want to walk in the mud all I need to do is walk from house to garage- really don't like mud. My mom and I were talking about the Warrior races they have here where you go through all kinds of mud and obstacles- definitely not for me- my 82 yr old mom said-" if they like it so much - why don't they join the army!"

have a great time emoticon
