The words of strangers

Earlier this week my family took out my mom's mom for a birthday dinner. The food was phenomenal, the conversation light-hearted, and we all enjoyed it.
I went to use the restroom after we ordered appetizers. After I washed my hands I was using my wet paper towel to clean up any crumbled mascara under my eyes when another girl came out of another stall. She saw what I was doing & told me "Darling don't worry you look beautiful." For me this was a strange occurence.
It's not uncommon for a friend or family member to tell you you look good but you tend to take it in stride as part of their loyalty. To have a complete stranger voice that same opinion floored me! I'll admit that I don't have a very high opinion of my looks and I can be cute when I get all dolled up, but beautiful? I'm taking it under advisement, but hmmm.
The great thing about this experience is that it showed me not all strangers are going to judge harshly like we see with critics tearing into celebrities. There just was a blog about that...oh man I can't find it... Anyways, it was an eye-opener to have a positive view from a total stranger for something I've always been negative about. Very refreshing. Now I just need to build my confidence up to see that beauty the girl was talking about.
What was the most unexpected POSITIVE thing a stranger has said to you?
