Belt holes and March goals

Friday, March 01, 2013

Hey, my title rhymes! Go me! Haha.

First, I'm excited to say I've gone down a belt hole. Or loop, whatever you call it. You know what I mean. ;) I'm not exactly comfortable this way, but my pants were falling down on the smaller hole, so I had to do something. emoticon So the slight squeeze I feel is just more motivation to keep going down. I'm not sure if this will reflect on the scale or not, but we'll see come weigh-in on Monday.

I think I've figured out my March goals, finally. I've been really inspired by Coach Nicole's videos here, and have heard great things about her DVDs, so I picked up her 28 Day Boot Camp at Target this week. I was too exhausted after that trip to pop it in and check it out, but I"m excited to tonight. I'll be following that challenge this month, and on the days where nothing is scheduled I will do a minimum of 10 minutes of other activity, whatever I am up for that day.
I keep figuring out that a few minutes of movement each day is the best fight against fatigue, but when it creeps back in again I forget that and let myself skip workouts. Which isn't the best, I would be ok if I toned them down for a while, but not exactly stopped all together.

So that's my work out plan, and I'm super excited about it. Not only will it give me the set in stone structured plan I need, but it also will give me a change of pace I really am craving. I'll let everyone know what I think, although I doubt I will be disappointed.

I've been eating a salad almost every day for lunch the past two weeks, and a lot of healthier 'junk' food (like Subway) instead of my usuals (like McDonald's) and I'm feeling a lot better about that. Hubby is getting more and more on board with me, and earlier this week when I called him, desperate to just sleep and have him take care of dinner, he made the choice to pick up Subway. I was so proud!!
I definitely want to keep that momentum going, so I need to find a new salad to try. I'm getting kind of tired of my Epic Salad, good as it is. So that will be my goal for next week - create a new, yummy salad. Asian inspired, maybe?
I'd like to try a green smoothie. I did earlier this week, and it was awful and I also forgot to add any sort of protein, so I starved. I should probably start by trying a recipe, which I have ready to try, so that will be tried this weekend if I don't wake up too cold and stiff for something cold to eat. :)
I really need to find some sort of desperate-I need dinner so I can rest-dinner plan. I have chicken nuggets, which are ok, but even that's a little involved when I'm at this level of fatigue, at the end of the day. So I may look into that, or maybe just write down what I plan to do, and tell hubby in advance he may have to do this super simple meal for us, like the nuggets and veggies or some such.
I do still plan to make dinner plans, and do a grocer shop this weekend, loading up on all the goodies I've been enjoying lately: fresh strawberries, (in season locally! love this time of year!) salads, oranges, quinoa, hardboiled eggs, greek yogurt, semi-frozen mixed fruit, yummy!

Happy March, everyone. Let's set those goals and get to it!

Hey, great stuff going on there! Have you taken a look at Spark recipes for salads? It snowed here today so I didn't feel like having salad so had warm soup instead. Have a great day!

My favorite salad has spinach, romaine or green leaf, gorgonzola, julienne carrots, chopped almonds and usually a little bit of fruit (sliced strawberries or apples). Gorgonzola is nice because it is so flavorful that you only need to us a little bit.
The 28 day bootcamp sounds like a great way to follow an exercise plan without getting too bored. If you keep it exciting, you're probably less likely to skip workouts.

Congratulations on the new belt hole! That is awesome! Even if the scales don't reflect the difference, don't even think about being discouraged! Many times we find the loss first in our clothing and that's great! Check out the recipes here for salads, they have some really good ones! Keep up the great work! Hugs!

Love the belt holes and March goals :)

I definitely think Subway can fit quite well into a healthy lifestyle. In February my boyfriend and I got into the habit of Subway Fridays for dinner. I get a light sub and have raw veggies on the side. Still feels like a treat, but it's not that bad! Love it!
