I'm in denial ..but the reality is I am sick. A head cold with all the bells and whistles! Ugg!
So March has arrived..Feb had many non scale successes for me. Not much in the way of pounds lost, though. Looking at my calories in vs. calories out I had a little crisis about the numbers. Was I eating enough to keep up with my new activity level? Had I shut my metabolism down? I admit to doing some obsessing.
The best and most logical advice I saw was on SP (ofcourse
An article that (in my understanding) advised to calculate calorie needs based on goal weight. As long as that calorie range isn't below 1200 calories. In otherwords -live like you are at your goal weight now. Let your body regulate.
Now if you do that and the recommended calories are below 1200 ...change your goal weight(raising it). Once your body regulates and you get to that weight--you can repeat the process.
Now, this is fairly simple info. Common sense. Old School! Yet so far off from any diet book/magazine or infomercial that I have read! It seems TOO easy.
It goes right back to my highschool health class!
Another bit of advice was a reminder that all of the #'s are not 100% accurate. More common sense-I should have known that- advice.
So I got the reassurance I needed. I know that I have felt good, not been at all hungry nor felt deprived. Every change I have made has been GOOD. My body IS responding, just not so much on the scale. So I ask myself again,
Will I abandon the changes I've made because the scale is slow to move?
No, I'm not quitting.
