Day 11: Going to Emergency Mode

Friday, March 01, 2013

I was up in the middle of the night between 3 am and 5 am. I could barely drag myself out of bed this morning. My 15 year old's fever has broken but he's still not back to normal. I have swollen glands and a touch of a sore throat. The oscillo and Airborne helps but I'm pretty tired. So today we go to Emergency Mode. This means doing the bare minimum - make my bed, eat healthy meals, clean the kitchen by 5 pm. Otherwise I'm going to rest and I'm not going to feel guilty about it.

My "no grains" diet has tons of fruits and vegetables and protein so I think it is a healthy way to eat that doesn't stress my body. So I'm going to continue with it even while sick. I'm not going to worry about my blood sugar readings because my blood sugar goes up when I'm sick and there isn't anything I can do about that.

I'll see how I feel as the day progresses.

1:30 report -

I'm feeling mostly just tired. I rested in the morning. I also managed to get breakfast and lunch made and cleaned up and the dishwasher going. My daughter is now curled up in her blanket and is complaining of not feeling well. We're dropping like flies, I tell ya.

Lunch was a salad with spinach, refried beans, onions and cheese. Not a grain in sight.
