And I'll party like I want to!
I started it out by sending both kids to school! Yay for feeling better, or at least good enough to go back to school. I am able to get back to normal routine stuff today.
I'm a whole year older. I'm actually starting to feel old, but that too shall pass. I know that in terms of my whole age I'm still right in the middle of it, but when you really can't say mid-30's anymore, then it gets you closer to being almost 40. Today I'm 37.
I will be having my cake today and eating out for lunch tomorrow. I always try to pick something yummy for my birthday and today's cake is a turtle cream pie from the freezer section. I usually get one of those DQ type cakes from the Walmart frozen bakery section (you save about $5 if you get the brand in the stores for the same type of cake). I didn't feel like dealing with Walmart, so I got something from my local grocery store.
Although I will be having a lot of sodium for lunch tomorrow, I will be able to make better choices when I'm simply having seafood at Red Lobster. Perhaps I'll order steamed crab legs? Problem is I like those soaked in butter shrimps... Research will be done today.
In the coming year I will have to get some things done.
I will be hitting my goal weight this year! I'm only 24 pounds away! My scale said 173.8 this morning! With the spring coming, I'll have more opportunity to get outside, both by myself and with the family in the evenings when we get the sunshine back in daylight savings time. If I can get rid of 50 pounds in one year, 24 pounds shouldn't be a problem. I will make it to maintenance!
I need to get serious about looking into furthering my education so I can get a good job to support my family. I can't seem to get even a minimum wage job at the moment. I might have to go to a temp service to work on a part time second shift job to supplement our income, but I will not go another year unemployed and undereducated.
I will figure out a way to "date" my husband more this year. Having kids sometimes puts a wedge between people and it hasn't helped any, but this year will have to get us closer than we have in a while. We're coming upon 10 years married this year and I want to make it special.
I will be making a doctor's appointment. I'm not sick, but there are a few aches to be had. I do have a doctor assigned to me, so I'm fortunate to have the ability to get a checkup. It's getting harder for people to find a doctor, so I'm glad I have had one for a while. I am skinnier than I was when I last saw him and although I'm not having the same issues I had last time I saw him, I have new ones that I think are due to being more active. It has been more than a year since I saw him last, so I'm overdue. I have plenty to say to him about losing weight and the horrible information he gave me.
So I have few goals, but they are major ones. I hope to get them checked off sooner than later!
