I'm more concerned that milk apparently needs sugar added to it to get people to drink it. I'm not a huge milk fan, I think I'm lactose intolerant, but that being said I've never thought let me add sugar to my milk. I think if they are using artifical sweetener they should put a label on the front in words I can understand. Not on the back with all the other ingredients that I have no idea what they are.

any sort of nutrition label dishonesty gets me mad....and I know it's rampant but as consumers we have a right to know what's in our food! anything with artificial sweeteners should indeed be labeled.

I think they should be labeled, but: They aren't talking about PLAIN MILK. They are talking about stuff like chocolate milk, strawberry milk, and flavored yogurt.

Artificial sweetener would still be listed as an ingredient; they're talking about whether or not to require a large print statement on the front or side of the label that says "Artificially sweetened."

So right now, if you buy a carton of Hood chocolate milk, it just says "Reduced fat chocolate milk." If they were to use artificial sweetener instead of sugar, they have to put a label that says "artificially sweetened."

You will still be able to buy like, plain skim milk or 2% or whatever that does not have stuff added.

I can't believe the food industry has created such a sweet tooth that we have to sweeten milk! Horrific.
